If you would like more free information on what is fly fishing and how fly fishing is much different than spin casting, check out Fly Fishing. This is a superb site that also has videos of fly fishing techniques.

If you’re a spin casing person and would like to learn to fly fish this website is a great place to get started. For example, the bait is the weight that gets the line out to where you want to catch nice fish with spin casting; however, in fly fishing, the line is the weight, not the fly bait.

The fly bait is extremely light but the thick yellow line with the invisible leader is what will get the fly bait out to where you want to catch that nice size trout.

In addition, if the video is enough to wet your appetite and you would like to learn more on fly fishing and specifically trout fishing, stop on by Trout Fishing Extreme Review for a more detailed look on fly fishing.

Maine is one of the most beautiful states in the Union. I know, since I lived there for several years while in the navy. For anglers of all types, Maine is the state to be when it comes to fishing.

To me, the most exciting is the inland river freshwater fly fishing for trout. Maine’s Androscoggin River “Upper” is the location for catching the trophy size rainbow and brown trout.

The Androscoggin has guided trips for family fishing adventures and public access launches at Gilead, Bethel, West Bethel, Newry and Hanover. Now keep in mind that Maine is cleaning up the Androscoggin and has a catch and release program for the trout in the Upper Androscoggin River.

However, there is great fishing to be had on this river and be sure to bring along your fly fishing equipment.

If you’re not sure what to bring on your trip and would like to have a checklist for fly fishing any river, stop by Trout Fishing Extreme Review for a complete Fly and Trout fishing guide. You’ll be amazed.

If you are an avid trout fisherman and read everything known to man about the topic, what’s the one book you have yet to find? For me, I’ve been researching various topics on trout fishing and the one book I can’t seem to find pertains to rivers of the world.

This book may already exist but I can’t seem to find anything that pertains to this fishing topic. I would love to find a book that covers all the major trout rivers of each region of the world. Not just a picture book, but a well thought out book on each river and how to best fish for the native trout of that area.

To me that would be a great fishing book. If anyone knows if anything like this exists please leave a message and let me know. Or, if you are looking for that special kind of trout book and can’t seem to find it let us know as well. I’m always finding new things and may run across what you’re looking for.

If you happen to live in or near Ohio you must take some time to fly fish the rivers of Ohio. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has stocked the Ohio rivers with all major species of trout. For example, the Brook Trout are native to Ohio and have been stocked by ODNR.

According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, “Brook trout require very cold, clear water to become successfully established. In Ohio this habitat is only available in very small spring fed streams that are completely forested.”

The Brook Trout located in Ohio are threatened and reintroduction programs are underway to help increase the numbers in the Ohio waters.

If you are in the Northwest of the United States and looking to fish some of the most rugged and beautiful waters in the Cascades, then you must see the Columbia River Gorge and Sandy River.

The Columbia River Gorge is 80 miles long and in the deepest parts of the river can reach depths of 4,000 feet!! This alone should tell you what type of fish you can catch in the rugged northwest.

There is a guide service that has been in business for over 20 years and has helped people of all kinds see the beauty of fishing and the beauty of the great outdoors. This team I’m referring to is Team HookUp Guide Service. Jack and Brandon can take any skill level fishing and can accommodate physical handicapped individuals as well.

Most importantly Jack is an avid spokesperson for the fishing industry, which is why Trout Fishing Extreme Review posted this article. As we take in the sights and sounds of our great lands we must give back to help the next generation to see the wonders of this earth.

The Department of Natural Resources is currently reviewing surveys on why trout fishing has diminished over the years. The number of active trout licenses are down for various reasons and the state of Wisconsin wants to know why?

Could it be due to license prices or other natural reasons that the amount of fisherman who actively go out and fish has reduced? The state of Wisconsin will release the findings after all the surveys have been turned in so as not to bias the results of the various surveys in circulation.

The best take away of this post is at least the state of Wisconsin is taking action and learning why the fishing habits within the state have changed over the years. Knowing what the problems are is the next step to creating a viable solution. My hats off to the state of Wisconsin for helping the trout population. Once this is resolved and you would like to learn more about trout fishing, check out Trout Fishing Extreme guide. A great way to learn to fish.
